As many of you know, I'm very keen on bonsai. (Bonsai are miniature trees planted in pots.) I'm fortunate, I will be living on Shikoku, the island that produces many of Japan's bonsai.
Wouldn't be fun to bring one home? Here is a web site that lists some bonsai. Your job is to determine the price (in yen, the Japanese currency), convert it to dollars and figure out the price of the tree.

When you find the price, Paulding students, come to my room (room 54) and tell me personally to redeem your prize.
PS Here's a hint, this site will make the conversion job easier:

Hello Mr. Lahr,
Great to be first twice in a row. Anyway, you made our job too easy by including the convertor of currency. Anyway, I have figured out how much the plant costs in dollars, and I am pretty amazed to know the amount it costs to buy one (I picked the most expensive one!)! I'll tell you the cost tomorrow, hopefully, if I don't forget.

P.S. When are you going to Japan again?
Hey Mr. Lahr,
Bonsai trees are so cool. Anyways i did the math and i found the price[i already told you.]
Sincerely,
Breanna D.
Hi Mr. Lahr,
Thanks for making the job so much easier. I agree with Akash that you made our job way to easy. I do think it's cool to translate the amount of Japanese yen into American dollars.

Dear Mr. Lahr,
So far while using the converter to find how much money is the bonsai, it seems like they are really expensive in the U.S.
I have a bonsai and it cost around 20 or 30 dollars. The bonsais on the site you put to see the bonsai are really huge, and a little pricy in both america and japan.

Hey Mr. Lahr,
Why would anyone spend that much money on a tree? It' not even a big tree!

I found the amount it would cost to buy the first tree. Why would someone spend that much on a little tree?
